Operation BigMow - A Huge Success

Operation BigMow has now officially come to an end, and what a tremendous success it has been from start to finish.

What began as a significant task quickly became a real demonstration of what our club is all about. The scale of the work required was considerable, but thanks to the commitment and enthusiasm of our members, it was tackled head-on and delivered to an excellent standard.

This success is entirely down to the membership pulling together. So many of you gave up your time and energy, rolled up your sleeves, and got properly stuck in. Whether you contributed a few hours or were there throughout, every effort made a difference and helped drive the project forward.

What stood out most was the spirit in which everything was done. The work was carried out with real drive and determination, but also with plenty of humour and camaraderie along the way. There was a genuine sense of teamwork throughout, with members supporting one another, sharing the load, and keeping morale high from beginning to end.

Operation BigMow has not only achieved its goals but has also reinforced the strength of our club community. It’s a great example of what can be accomplished when everyone works together with a shared purpose.

A huge thank you to everyone involved. Your hard work, positivity, and team spirit have made this a standout success and something the whole club can be proud of.

Operation “Isocleanup”

Operation “Isocleanup” has now successfully reached the end of its inventory data collection phase. All items within the ISO storage container have been reviewed, sorted, and accounted for, providing the club with a clear and up-to-date understanding of the contents, their condition, and their potential future use. This marks a significant step forward in improving the organisation and usability of the space.

We are now moving into the documentation stage, where the collected information is being formally recorded and structured. This will ensure that the outcomes of the exercise are properly captured, including decisions on retained equipment, disposed items, and any actions required. Once completed, this documentation will support better ongoing management of club assets and help maintain the container in a safe, organised, and accessible condition for all members.

Further updates to follow!

Club Documentation

The committee is reviewing and updating club documentation. Club policies, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and other safety-related information are being migrated so they can be accessed directly through the website.

The intention is that members will be able to simply click on the relevant document name and be taken to the appropriate page where it can be viewed online. This should make important information much easier to find, ensure everyone is working to the same guidance, and support safe operation at the flying field.

This also helps the club meet BMFA safety and governance expectations by ensuring members have clear access to current procedures and safety information.

Some documents are available online, with the remainder gradually becoming visible over the next few weeks and months. Please click on the document number on the register.

Thank you in advance to everyone who helps. A well-organised container and accessible documentation benefits all members and helps us look after the club’s facilities for the future.
